At Essity, supporting the communities where we live and work is an important part of who we are. Through our new Made Here, Stays Here initiative, we’re connecting products made at our North American facilities with the needs of local communities. Employees at each participating facility will help select local organizations to receive support.

The initiative kicked off at our Barton, Alabama, facility, where employees voted on local nonprofits and selected Safeplace, Inc. as the first community partner. Safeplace received a donation and essential Tork® hygiene products, with an additional toilet paper donation planned for December.

Supporting Safeplace in Northwest Alabama

Safeplace provides services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence across Northwest Alabama. Its programs include emergency shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, legal advocacy and prevention education. Community donations help Safeplace cover everyday expenses that may not be included in grant funding.

Essity representatives visited Safeplace to deliver the donated products and recognize the organization as the first Made Here, Stays Here partner.

“Safeplace relies on community support to sustain our shelters,” said Sandra Ellis, executive director of Safeplace. “Thank you all for being community leaders with a heart for helping!”

Supporting Our Neighbors

Made Here, Stays Here gives Essity employees an opportunity to support local organizations doing important work in their communities. By connecting products manufactured locally with organizations serving local residents, the initiative helps meet practical needs close to home.
