  • The Supreme Administrative Court announced its judgment today in Essity’s dispute with the Swedish Tax Agency regarding the agency’s decision to impose additional taxes and tax surcharges for the years 2008 to 2012. As earlier announced by the company Essity has recognized a provision for and paid the disputed amount. The judgment will reduce Essity’s tax expense by approximately SEK 1.1bn in the fourth quarter of 2018.

  • According to Essity’s articles of association, owners of Class A shares have the right to have such shares converted to Class B shares. Conversion reduces the total number of votes in the company. When such a conversion has occurred, the company is obligated by law to disclose any such changes in this manner.

  • The press conference held in connection with the publication of Essity’s Year-end Report for 2018 will also be available via webcast and it is possible to join by phone.

  • Essity’s new targets for reduction of greenhouse gas emission have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. With this, Essity’s sustainability targets are now aligned with the Paris agreement objectives to keep global temperature increase below 2°C.

  • Essity has won the awards ‘Technical Innovation of the Year’ for Tork EasyCube® and ‘Best Practice - Sustainability’ at the 2018 European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards. The awards were announced on November 15 in Berlin.

  • Essity has joined the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s New Plastic Economy global commitment, “A line in the sand”. Essity is therefore committed to working toward 100% recyclability of the company’s packaging by 2025.

  • To strengthen its competitiveness and increase its efficiency, Essity is today announcing the following changes to its organizational structure and Executive Management Team. The changes entail that the number of members of the Executive Management Team is being reduced from 14 to 12.

  • Margareta Lehmann, President of Health and Medical Solutions and a member of Essity’s Executive Management Team, is stepping down from her position due to retirement.
