The Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene organization (formerly known as SCA) is currently searching for an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician for our 100% recycled content tissue manufacturing facility in Menasha, WI. Starting wage for this role is $33.43 per hour.

This person will be responsible for reducing unscheduled maintenance, increasing uptime and lowering maintenance costs by developing maintenance capabilities and effectiveness. This person will be a shared resource for the entire mill when their technical expertise or other capabilities are needed to solve a problem, support a project, or implement changes, and will strive to drive safe, respectful, and positive workplace interactions.

  • Manage the documentation of Electrical/Instrumentation and controls diagrams;
  • Learn new technology, processes and electrical equipment and educate others;
  • Lead instrumentation and controls troubleshooting efforts;
  • The E+I Technician seeks to be at an expert/teacher level in at least one electrical technology: AC & DC Drives, PLC software and related hardware, Safety Systems, Honeywell DCS, or other areas TBD by an assessment of mill needs;
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safe Work Practices;
  • NEC wiring code (NFPA 70) familiarity;
  • Troubleshoot wiring, I/O devices, relays, AC & DC drives, as well as PLC code to support mill safety, product quality, and machine efficiency;
  • Be a point person for driving equipment efficiencies electrically;
  • Be involved in continuous improvement processes as needed and directed. Utilize 1:1 interaction on the job, formal meetings, and other forums to train others in mill technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Complete electrical state indentured apprenticeship or electrical based technical associates degree program;
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing Electrical/Instrumentation troubleshooting tasks;
  • Experience in a paper-making or converting facility is preferred, but not required;
  • Ability to use MS Office tools as needed in the role and a base understanding of our work planning processes;
  • Familiarity with hazards and procedures involving medium voltage equipment and/or sub stations is preferred but not required;
  • Ability to work with others to resolve complex problems , making data-based recommendations;
  • Allen Bradley PLC experience preferred;
  • Honeywell C300 troubleshooting and programming skills preferred but not required;
  • AC &DC Drives troubleshooting and setup/commissioning experience;
  • Ability to use vendor manuals to setup new equipment when necessary;
  • This role requires someone who is self-motivated to learn and advance their technical skills.
